M.Phil. Admission 2017 in Punjab
Introduction
M.Phil. or Master of Philosophy is a postgraduate academic research degree course. It studies about the nature of man and ideas in context to a certain field of study. Basically, it is a comprehensive system of ideas about human nature of the reality we live in. This course can either be completely research based or can include course work as well. An M.Phil. is in most cases thesis-only, and is regarded as a senior or second master's degree, standing between a taught Master's and a Ph.D.
A master’s degree in philosophy is offered in by various Indian Universities in a wide variety of subjects ranging from Arts, Science, Commerce and Management streams.
2 years, in which one year is for course work and one year is for the dissertation which can be extended up to four years from the date of admission.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates need to acquire 55% marks in the subject chosen for M.Phil. Course or an allied subject at the Postgraduate level to be considered eligible for the course. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and / Physically Challenged categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% marks at the Master’s Degree (P.G) eligibility criterion.
Admission procedure
All the candidates are required to register on the university website after deceleration of results of CUCET-2017 to appear for the counseling. The students whose name figures in the merit list as displayed on the university website & are required to present themselves with all relevant documents in original at the time of counseling.
